The presentation of battery cells as feed material proved to be a magnet for visitors at IFAT.
BHS-Sonthofen recorded even greater visitor interest at IFAT from May 13 to 17, 2024 compared to previous trade fairs. Numerous guests from all over the world came to find out about battery recycling as well as technologies and application examples for recycling metal-containing waste materials. This underlines the global importance of sustainable solutions. The BHS trade fair concept proved its worth.

This year, BHS-Sonthofen's focus at the trade fair was on the efficient and safe recycling of lithium-ion batteries. A second major topic was metal recovery from metal-containing waste materials such as electrical and electronic scrap, incinerator bottom ash (IBA) and shredder residues from automotive shredder residue (ASR).

The trade fair concept impressed visitors with its various themed islands. Unsurprisingly, IFAT 2024 confirmed the major role that battery recycling currently plays in the development of sustainable energy storage solutions. The efficient and safe process developed by BHS for recycling lithium-ion batteries met with overwhelming interest. The process has already been tested on an industrial scale in several international references. Above all, the presentation of battery modules and cells as feed material attracted visitors.

BHS-Sonthofen also successfully positioned itself as a technology leader for metal recovery from metal-containing composite materials. In recent years, the company has continuously invested in further development in order to further improve metal recovery from various feed materials. Visitors were able to get an idea of the input material, the different treatment processes and the recycling results.

"We would like to thank everyone who made IFAT 2024 a great experience and look forward to seeing you again at future events," commented Daniel Zeiler, Vice President of the buisness unit Recycling Technology.
