We leave nothing to chance. In order to exhaust all efficiency potentials, a detailed process analysis is carried out at the beginning of the project. Possible technological solutions are examined in pilot plants and laboratory tests. We offer pilot plants of all our machines - for tests on site at the customer's premises or at our premises. For laboratory applications, we also have the appropriate equipment available in the form of a pocket measuring instrument and a laboratory slide.
For comprehensive tests, even lasting several weeks, we offer pilot plants as identical variants of all our machines. Tests on pilot plants confirm throughput capacity, process stability and operating parameters. We carry out these tests in our test-center and filtration laboratory - but also offer the plants for rent for tests at the customer's site. Based on the results, a reliable design of the production machines is possible. Pilot machines from BHS are of course also available for purchase for small-scale production.
Tests in the filtration laboratory serve to determine the precise filtration properties of a suspension, the suitable filter type, the required filter surface and all operating parameters. We perform our laboratory tests using the pocket leaf filter (PLF) and the laboratory Nutsche filter.
Simple, reliable and reproducible – whether in the laboratory or on the customer’s premises: We carry out tests with the pocket leaf filter (type PLF) to help customers gain a general overview. The pocket leaf filter, which has a filter area of only 20 cm2, is a compact, portable filtration device for laboratory and field use. It is available as a plug-and-play version. Thanks to a sight glass mounted at the top and bottom, cake formation can be observed directly. The pocket leaf filter further makes it possible to investigate the parameters pressure and vacuum. The filter medium can be changed quickly, and all common media are supported.
Tests performed with the pocket leaf filter provide you with basic information on the filterability of a suspension and on the general design of a suitable production filter. Moreover, the pocket leaf filter is excellently suited for obtaining small amounts of pure solid or liquid material from suspensions.
The pocket leaf filter complies with VDI Guideline 2762 “Mechanical solid-liquid separation by cake filtration.”
An alternative to the pocket leaf filter is the stainless steel BHS laboratory Nutsche filter (type LN) with a filter area of 56 cm2 and a cake height of up to 200 mm. The Nutsche also complies with VDI Guideline 2762 “Mechanical solid-liquid separation by cake filtration” and is ideally suited for determining the precise filtration properties of a suspension.
