The planetary mixer (BPX) is characterized by its excellent counterflow mixing principle, which enables perfect mixing after just a few full revolutions. The mixing blades rotate slightly offset with each revolution, which prevents dead spaces. This results in several advantages:
- Versatility: planetary mixers are suitable for different types of concrete, both the low-viscosity face concrete, the earth-moist core concrete and the very fine-grained concrete used in the wetcast process.
- Strength: An optimum mixing process contributes to a higher and more uniform strength of the concrete blocks.
- Color consistency: For colored concrete blocks, a better mix leads to a more even color distribution and intensity.
- Workability: The right mix influences the consistency of the fresh concrete, which has a direct effect on the workability and moldability of the concrete blocks.

The uncomplicated cleaning between two batches with different recipes practically eliminates carry-over - for fewer rejects and reproducible results.
