For the complete separation and recovery of solid catalysts from reaction solutions and suspensions, we offer various filters that enable fully automated and self-contained processes. Our candle filters (type CF) and pressure plate filters (type PF) have proven their reliability in both the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and represent the more efficient alternative to screen filtration.
Typical applications include precious metal catalysts such as recovery of palladium, rhodium, platinum or (Raney) nickel, flammable catalysts, hydrogenation catalysts and fluid catalytic cracking (FCC).
Catalysts are used in many different process steps to influence chemical reactions. One example is hydrogenation using precious metal catalysts. After the reaction, the catalysts are separated and recovered. The filtrate must be clear and the catalyst must be ready for re-use.
Candle filters and pressure plate filters are optimally suited for the conditioning of catalysts. Both machines are batch-operated pressure filtration systems that are used in particular for the recovery of solids from liquids with a low solids content. The filters operate fully automatically, thus increasing operational reliability and simultaneously reducing the TOC. As closed systems, they also reduce process-related risks to personnel and the environment. Compared to manual filters, they offer higher product quality and improved yield.
