As formulations are getting increasingly complex, the twin-shaft batch mixer (DKX) is becoming an ever more popular tool for the production of concrete precast parts. Whether it’s curb edgings, designer garden benches, channel components, tunnel or bridge components, columns or masts: Precast concrete elements are ubiquitous. During production, a consistently high degree of homogeneity of the mixture is required batch after batch, because the finished component needs to serve its function perfectly while satisfying the desired aesthetic preferences.
A mixing plant with BHS twin-shaft batch mixers proved itself in a major project completed by Europoles GmbH & Co. KG that involved the production of high-strength concrete. Europoles delivered 618 supports made from white, high-strength spun concrete for the third largest mosque in the world. The pole manufacturer, based in Neumarkt, Germany, produced the concrete for the columns, which are up to 34 meters high and weigh up to 34 metric tons, with twin-shaft batch mixers from BHS-Sonthofen’s DKX range. For this purpose, the existing BHS-Sonthofen mixing plant was modified and upgraded.
The mixing tools ensure intensive relative movements in the entire mixer interior as well as perfect mixing:
Sophisticated formulations for concrete blocks, face concrete, colored concrete, high-performance concrete (incl. UHFB) or self-compacting concretes (SCC) can be produced with ease. Lastly, the system delivers low wear and low energy consumption.
