BHS recycling technology allows you to achieve the best results and high purities when it comes to the recovery of copper, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals. Based on your requirements, we design and build complete recycling plants that include multiple shredding stages or custom machines for specific applications. What you will have at the end of the recycling process are salable products.
With BHS recycling technology, we can recycle entire electric motors directly and as meatballs. Meatballs, which consist of a combination of electric motors and motor armatures generated during waste incineration, are difficult to cleanly separate by type. BHS-Sonthofen has developed a new procedure to significantly increase the amount of copper recovered. A rotor shredder optimized for this approach is used to selectively process the input material. An overhead magnet located downstream separates the ferrous fraction from the rest of the material. Other technical systems release the copper portion of the material from stainless steel parts and non-magnetic chromium steel. The copper is then processed in the rotor impact mill (RPMX). The end product is a copper concentrate that is ready for smelting and meets the growing market demand for ultra-high grades of purity.
BHS technology allows you to recover large amounts of reusable materials from light iron scrap such as mechanical-biological waste (MBW) and tin cans. Our shredders are also able to handle low-grade iron fractions. The Rotorshredder selectively processes the input material, which is ready for sale after subsequent sorting. The rotor impact mill (type RPMV) is suitable for ultra-fine iron fractions. It removes the valuable metal from adhesions of other materials and pelletizes it. The cleaned iron scrap can be marketed to steel mills as high-quality scrap for cooling.
Aluminum scrap generally contains impurities or is found in alloy form in combination with other materials. Selective disaggregation in the rotor shredder (type RS) ensures that the aluminum is optimally separated from other materials. Following this, the rotor impact mill (type RPMV) can be used to clean the material, pelletize it and further process it. If the input material is very large, our RAPAX can be used to pre-shred the material. As this demonstrates, BHS recycling technology is able to perform each of the steps in aluminum processing. In our system concepts, we are also able to make a distinction between high-copper, low-copper, high-zinc and low-zinc grades of aluminum and deliver maximum added value to you through optimized separation.
